Telma graduated from the University of Queensland in 2018 with a Bachelor with Honours of Physiotherapy. Her professional journey has been shaped by a passion for empowering individuals to regain independence, confidence, and quality of life through tailored, evidence-based care.

Telma’s interest in physiotherapy began during childhood, after witnessing the tireless work of physiotherapists in helping a close family member recover from a stroke.

“My own experience with knee injuries further deepened my appreciation for the profession, as physiotherapy was key in helping me recover and return to the activities I enjoy” Telma told us.
“The most rewarding aspect of my work is helping patients achieve milestones they may have thought were out of reach. Whether it’s regaining mobility, overcoming pain, or rebuilding strength, it’s a privilege to play a role in their recovery journey and witness their resilience and growth”.

Telma has trained in dry needling and have completed courses in advanced treatment of shoulder pain, low back pain, balance and falls prevention in older adults, and sports physiotherapy and has provided professional physiotherapy support for Hockey Tasmania and Netball Tasmania.

“I strive to create a welcoming and inclusive environment for all patients, ensuring they feel safe, respected, and supported in their care” she said.

Having been Raised in northern Spain to Australian parents, Telma is fluent in Spanish and very happy to see patients from Spanish-speaking backgrounds”.

When she’s not working, Telma enjoys knitting and crochet, practicing yoga, swimming, and exploring some of the beautiful local walking trails.
